Drawing from Art and Life
11 & 25 May; 8 & 22 June • 2 - 5 pm
Take inspiration from one of the numerous masterpieces in the Barber Collection that depict the human body in these classes led by artist and tutor Terry Mullett. After sketching in the gallery, you will draw directly from a nude model whose pose is based on one of the works in the collection.
Sessions are limited to two per person.
Tickets £10 (£7.50 Friends/Over-60s; £5 students) including all materials. Booking essential.*
Facial Journeys
Intimately Observed Self-Portraits
Saturday 3 July (10.30 am – 4.30 pm) &
Sunday 4 July (12 pm – 4.30 pm)
Explore the art of portraiture in this two-day workshop led by painter Angela Gladwell, inspired by the exhibition Objects of Affection. Firstly, learn how to draw a detailed self-portrait, making a concentrated journey over features and contours. On the second day, you will be creating a spontaneous brush drawing based on your observations. This workshop is aimed at adults aged over 18 years.
£50 per person. All materials included in price. Booking essential.*
