DewsburyDewsbury was described in a historical directory from the 18th century as having “risen from comparative insignificance to a… thriving manufacturing town”. It was particularly notable for its woollen trade, for blankets, clothes, and rugs among other things. There were also several large iron foundries, factories making boilers and machines, and many flour mills. |
