Dual Nationalities:
The Exchange of Artistic Ideas

Since the Renaissance, artists across Europe have traded ideas and ‘cross-fertilized’ techniques and styles. The medium of prints was particularly important in enabling them to do this, with artists from the north having access to images from the south, and vice versa.
This display explores this interchange, and features prints by Raimondi after Dürer, Franz Marc after Delacroix, and Hollar after Van Dyck. The exhibition complements the theme for this year’s Family Open Day: Art, Music and Europe.
