Henry Fairs performs Messiaen’s complete works for organ during 2008, in a series of Sunday afternoon recitals.
The centenary of the birth of Olivier Messiaen (1908-92) is celebrated by a performance of his complete works for organ. University Organist Henry Fairs presents this deeply-felt music in a series of six Sunday afternoon recitals on the renovated organ by Hill, Norman and Beard in the University Great Hall. A rare treat, indeed.
“Fairs emerges as a top-notch performer. His registrations, tempos, and sensitivity to subtle nuances in phrasing and articulation are superb.” American Record Guide
