Summer Festival Opera
Strauss Die Fledermaus (sung in English)
Johann Strauss’s most celebrated and popular operetta is full of mistaken identities, flirtation and confusion of all kinds, providing a hilarious vehicle for the most captivating of scores. Join Baron von Eisenstein and his companions for an evening of fun and frivolity at the masked ball as Die Fledermaus’s plan for revenge unfolds!

Symphony Orchestra
The Summer Festival Symphony Orchestra’s programme includes the winning entry from this year’s Summer Festival Composition Competition, along with a dazzling performance from the winner of the Concerto Competition.

Early Music Concert
University music students will transport you back to centuries past with an afternoon of Baroque and Renaissance music performed on period instruments. This performance will be followed by light refreshments in the foyer.

The Summer Festival joins forces with members of the Guild of Students Chamber Music Society and with musicians from across the University to perform popular pieces from the chamber music repertory.

The smooth sounds of the Jazz Orchestra will have you clicking your fingers and tapping your toes. Come and dance the night away to a selection of Jazz, Swing and Big Band classics.
